Sylvia’s Profile
I completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy from La Trobe University, Australia, in 2000, and have since worked across various clinical settings in Melbourne. My early career focused on acute trauma and accident care, particularly rehabilitation following surgery or injury.
In 2011, I relocated to Hong Kong and began working at an international hospital, treating clients in the Maternity and Orthopaedic wards. My work involved providing manual therapy for musculoskeletal conditions and conducting Pilates training for a diverse range of clients, including antenatal and postpartum women, individuals recovering from orthopaedic or soft tissue injuries, and post-surgical patients.
In 2015, I joined Posture Plus, where my main interests include providing hands-on treatment and incorporating Pilates Plus method to treat clients with neck or back pain. When appropriate, I also offer ergonomic guidance to prevent repetitive injuries.
Having 2 children has deepened my passion for supporting prenatal and postpartum women. I enjoy helping women prepare their bodies for child birth and assisting them in regaining their strength and mobility.
Recognizing the importance of postnatal care, I focus on helping new mothers nurture their bodies as they adapt to the physical demands of caring for a newborn. My approach emphasizes core strengthening, back pain prevention, and addressing Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation), all while improving posture. Additionally, I support their transition back to work or pre-pregnancy sports through the Pilates Plus method, which integrates specialist physiotherapy knowledge with Pilates method.
To expand my skills in the area of Women’s Health, I have completed post-graduate training in Sydney. I am fluent in both English and Cantonese.
