Christy’s Profile

I graduated from The University of Nottingham (UK) in 2016, and started my physiotherapy career at a public hospital here in Hong Kong. During my rotations, I gained experience in a wide variety of specialties including acute orthopaedics, neurology, women’s health, sports rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal therapy.

During these last few years, I have developed interest particularly in sports injury prevention and rehabilitation. During my undergraduate course, I volunteered in different sporting events in the UK, such as cycling and football, and provided on-site physio treatments to athletes. After three years of working, I pursued a Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine and Health Science at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, which gave me an opportunity to provide on-field support for the Kitchee female football team.

My current area of special interest is advancing my skills in women’s health physiotherapy. I am looking into several different courses and most recently have achieved a certificate for women’s incontinence treatment.

I enjoy doing yoga during my spare time. Apart from helping me to calm my body and mind, it also furthers my understanding of body asymmetries and muscle imbalance and allows me to apply it to my clinical practice.

I also like to bake when I am free, it brings me joy when I see my family and friends enjoy my treats.
