Louis’s Profile

I have served lectureships with Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore, and then Clinical Associate with Hong Kong PolyU. I enjoyed teaching and giving back to the next generation. Since 2011, the last 10+ years I had been working in Shanghai which was really a long honeymoon journey. I got sufficient time to work on the patient’s problems, I had no boundaries or restrictions set on me. Shanghai is very liberal, open minded. I was privileged to cross meet many cultures, many great MDs, chiefs, PTs, clinicians, yoga and kung fu masters. I am able to move, expand and climb to a higher level of  paradigm and practice. I told my master you raise me up to your shoulders and I can see things from a higher dimension. I am always grateful!

What I have to do, I have to give my best to solve my clients problems. Life is a one way journey.

Manual therapy or manual medicine

Exercise therapy (Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates)

Myofascial Release, Meridians and Energy flow, Structural work, body-mind-soul with Zen

I’m more of alternate medicine area, trying to treat a person holistically and with all natural methods, bridging the gaps from mainstream medicine that they have sought.

I have the privilege to study Tai Chi with Master Ni 倪祥章 in Shanghai since 2011. I  slowly acquired the chi, first starting to feel it or sense it. Then when I was treating patients, it comes out naturally as an add on weaponry. I found it very interesting to work on many conditions, ,like frozen shoulder, the spiral weave 螺旋缠丝劲 pattern to work on is already the natural remedy to unlock the capsular pattern of frozen shoulder.

I had a central disc protrusion at C3/4 which made me see a renowned spinal surgeon in town for epidural and radio frequency, but the pain was still there afterwards. I had cracks in my patella femoral cartilage, after 2 years, the cartilage in the patella femoral joint was gone. I had to see another good orthopedic friend for hyalone injection, for several times. He diagnosed me with early OA Knee.

From then on I turned to more natural methods of healing, practicing tai chi, qi gong, meridians and with high skill colleagues helping me to treat my blockage and dysfunctional segments, I m good with my neck and knee now.

Though the joint spaces are narrowed, I am not limited in functions. I can live, work and hike in pretty good shape. I will give credits to all the myofascial work, energy work, structural work to me and my colleagues. Another big point is I got rid of severe allergic rhinitis, which I developed it when I was 30+, and had even consulted the professors in Prince of Wales Hospital, Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Everyone has self healing potential. Unfortunately people are now faced with tight schedules, overwhelming work and stress, insufficient sleep and rest, unhealthy eating habits. Zen practice brings us back to peaceful mind, and restore our balance. 心平能愈三千疾,慈悲喜舍是菩提。It is simply my mission to help.
